Penguins – Beautiful – Penguins and Wales and Seals xo oh yes, and the Petrels and the incredible Wandering Albatross

I really loved watching the Penguin chicks with their parents, if you have seen the movie ‘Happy Feet’ and you liked the movie ‘Happy Feet’, then there is a good chance that you will, just as I did – fall in love with Antarctica.

Each day I sat on the rocks and just watched.  The cheeky little chicks are the cutest things ever!  They’re cheeky, brave and bold and act like they can do absolutely anything and everything.

Until, of course when the snow falls and they get cold, then they run and hide under their mothers and fathers,
they are so cute, that often they just ducked their heads into their parent’s soft feathers and left their little bodies exposed to the cold, wind and snow, but that was ok,
because their faces were warm and protected – what they couldn’t see didn’t seem to worry them so much …

They would be brave and bold, this little chick kept pecking at her killer – the seal – then she stood back, acted like nothing happened, watched, acted innocent like she had done nothing at all and I am sure  I even heard ‘her’ laugh…  On land, it’s Match to the Penguin and Game Lost to the Seal!

And for some strange reason, I think Voltimore has a home in Antarctica ?

Elephant Seals hanging around on the beach, soaking up massive doses of Vitamin D, catching their breath after their marathon swims and digesting their ‘sea catch of the day’ –  mostly penguin.

And when they get bored they slip into the water and play fight 🙂

Meanwhile, the amazing and passive giant petrel sat on her nest and watched us all.  She was so calm, relaxed and I think she actually quite liked our human company.

And from the very same spot of watching the seals, penguins and petrels, look what else came over to say hello!!!  All the reasons why I can truly say – “yes I have caught the poler bug and just have to go back again’!!!
